He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Wimpee and Ruth Wimpee; and his siblings, M. R. Wimpee, Milton Wimpee, Elouise Watson, Ernest Wimpee, Raymond Wimpee and Eddie Wimpee.

He is survived by: his children, Kim Wimpee Hendrix, James Charles "Charlie" Wimpee (Nicole) and Ashley Wimpee Kurdziel (Andrew); his brother Arthur Wayne "Ott" Wimpee; his grandchildren, Dustin Mayo (Jennifer) and Scoti Mayo; and his great grandchildren, Christian Taylor, Canaan Mayo, Cohen Mayo and Nora Kirby. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
