He was predeceased by: his parents, Velma Perry (Threadgill) and John Fletcher Perry; his brother-in-law Harvey Bradley; his wife Wilma Sue Perry (Marble); and his son James Joel Scott "Scottie" Perry.
He is survived by: his siblings, Danny Wayne Perry (Norma Gene), Priscilla Anne Bradley (Perry) and John Fletcher Perry II (Annette); and his grandchildren, James William "Jw" Scott Perry and Emma Rose Andrews (Perry).
