With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joel Norman Wood Sr. (Gadsden, Alabama), who passed away on June 28, 2019 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Inez Parker Wood; his parents, Stanope Wood and Minnie Lou Parks Wood; and his siblings, George Wood, Stanope Wood, Jr. (Buddy), Glen Wood, Terry Wood, Perry Wood, Willie Lee Harding (Bill), Rebecca Cox (Ann), Hildred Kennedy, Sandra Rogers Weaver and Sara Lou Wood.

He is survived by: his sons, Joel Wood, Jr. (Kandis), Ken D. Wood (Lynne) and Gary Wood; his grandchildren, Joshua Wood (Lauren), Lindsay Pearson (Daniel), Jordan Wood (Ansley) and Lauren Evans (Jeremy); his great grandchildren, Cooper Pearson, Cori Beth Pearson, Hudson Evans, Eliza Wood and Copeland Evans; his brother Bobby Wood; and his siblings-in-law, Kay Wood, Sue Wood and Buddy Kennedy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church or Shepherd's Cove Hospice in Albertville.
