John Robert McElroy Jr. Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Robert McElroy Jr. of Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on January 4, 2022 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert McElroy, Sr. and Velna Taylor McElroy; his daughter Adrienne Ingate McElroy; and his sister Joyce McElroy Hamilton. He is survived by: his sons, John Robert McElroy, III of Birmingham, William Shelton McElroy (Kelli) of Gadsden and James Taylor McElroy (Erin) of Birmingham; his grandchildren, Sallie Elizabeth McElroy, Morgan Katharine McElroy, James Mahlon McElroy, Jacob Taylor McElroy, Carlie Connett Porter (Stratton) and Corey Connett (Kristen); his great grandchildren, William Mason Connett, Madelyn Elizabeth and Joseph Maddox; and his cousins, George Taylor Lyles (Christine) of Mobile, AL, Jean Lyles Foster (Key, Jr.) of Birmingham, Diane Lyles Holcomb (John, III) of Birmingham, Barbara Mitchell Beamer (Bill) of Tuscaloosa and Dr. Charles Craig Mitchell (Wanda) of Albany. He is also survived by many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
