She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Rattray Awbrey and Louise Pope Awbrey; her brother Bruce Shirley; and her grandparents, John Emmett Awbrey Jr., Bernice Rattray Awbrey, George F. Pope and Veo Lovvorn Pope.
She is survived by: her daughter Alyssa L. Alexander; her siblings, John C. Awbrey and Gina Shirley Pineiro; her siblings' children, Justin Wyatt, Amber Wyatt Najm and Andrea Wyatt Ablordeppey; and her aunts and uncles, Mildred Pope Butts, Sula Gwin Pope, Frank Pope and Jim Pope. She is also survived by numerous cousins and other relatives.
The family requests no flowers or plants to be sent. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the Etowah County Humane Society and/or the Cherokee County (Al) Humane Society.
