He was predeceased by: his parents, Pauline Laughlin and R. E. Laughlin; his brother David Laughlin; and his siblings-in-law, Earl Gwin and Cheryl Morris.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Morris Laughlin; his children, Amanda Skinner and Drew Laughlin (Marianna); his siblings, Ron Laughlin (Carol) and Dianne Brock (Gary); his grandchildren, Anna Caroline, Grant Audrey Skinner, Evan, Sarah Grace and Lottie Laughlin; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Gwin and Amos Morris Jr.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Glencoe First Baptist Building Fund or Rainbow Presbyterian Youth Fund.
