He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Daugherty and Elizabeth Daugherty; his brothers, Phenias Daugherty and Anthony Daugherty; and his niece Toni Daugherty Snell.

He is survived by: his wife Pamela T. Daugherty; his children, Casey Lackey (Ben) and Matt Daugherty; his granddaughters, Elizabeth Lackey, Mattie Lackey and Olivia Daugherty; and his brother Roy Daugherty.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to James Memorial Baptist Church.
