She is survived by: her husband Grady Ward Akins; her children, Bruce Akins (Betsy), Craig Akins (Karen), Donna Hagedorn and David Akins (Linda); her grandchildren, Miles Akins (Michelle), Molly Taylor (Ken), Kelly Ray (Adam), Jamie Sawyer (Andrew), Mark Akins (Corey), Brian Hagedorn (Jennifer), Becky Hagedorn, Amanda Fant (Scott), Lori Smith (Zane), Matthew Akins (Leslie) and Katie Marie Montgomery (Kevin); and her nieces, Teresa Barrett, Leslie Bleier and Kay Iandoli (Joe).
In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial contributions to be made to First Baptist Church of Gadsden.
