It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merriel Annette Mayo of Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on August 26, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Lee and Bonnie Lee; her daughter Lisa Anders; and her great grandchild Henry Douglas Boozer (late Kenneth Mayo). She is survived by: her sons, Lenny Blackwell (Melissa) and Brent Blackwell (Brandy); her grandchildren, Lee Smith, Drew Blackwell, Bradley Anders, Megan Boozer (Blake), Bevin Payne (Logan) and Caden Blackwell; her stepsons, Jack Mayo (Cheryl), Ken Mayo and Jacob Mayo (Jennifer); her stepgrandchildren, Mallory Leeman (Eben), Zack Mayo, Hailey Mayo, Anna Mayo, Jackson Mayo, Brittany Watts and Caleb Watts; her great grandchildren, Braden Boozer, Kace Smith, Samuel Smith, Hudson Hill, Brylee Payne, Rubie Anders and Emey Payne; her sisters, Carrie Chambers and Deborah Mitchell (Dennis); and her sister-in-law Mary Frances Gilchrist. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

The family requests that those invited follow CDC Covid-19 guidelines while attending.
