He was predeceased by: his parents, George Self and Loretta Self; his siblings, George Self, Jr. and Vicky Self; his nephew Shannon Butler; and his brother-in-law Gary Butler.

He is survived by: his siblings, Donna Butler of Ball Play and Mark Self (Kathy) of Florida; and his nephew Anthony Butler. He is also survived by his 3 daughters, and 1 son whom he loved very much; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
