With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Laverne Kasten (Gadsden, Alabama), whose presence will be deeply missed. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her daughter Kathy Ray; and her husbands, William McCaleb, Samuel Ray and Donald Kasten. She is survived by: her children, Debbie Roberts, John Ray (Sharon) and Samuel Ray (Kelly); her grandson Jeremy Roberts (family: Mike Roberts, Jason Roberts, Shawn Ray); her great grandchildren, Katlyn Barron (Tanner), Jayden Barron and Jeremiah Roberts; and her great great grandchild Leighton Barron. She is also survived by family, Mike Roberts and family.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Crestwood Cemetery (2209 E Broad St, Gadsden, AL 35903).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Children's Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
