He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard L. Mitchell and Frances Hutchins; and his siblings, Ella Jo Elkins and Timothy Epps. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Alford Mitchell; and his children, Michael Mitchell (Heather), Keith Mitchell and Cindy Mitchell. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two brothers, four sisters, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to issue a special thanks to Amedysis Hospice, especially Charity Christopher, Debbie and Paul Millirons, and to Gadsden Fire Station Number 9.
