He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace L. "Billy" Preston and Edith Louise Preston. He is survived by: his wife Marie Preston; his sons, Shannon Preston (Terina) and Brannon Preston (Stephanie); his stepdaughters, Stephanie Hansard (Sam) and Deidra Hansard (Brent); and his siblings, Malinda Hallmark (Garry) and Tim Preston (Stephanie). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
