He was predeceased by: his son Charles Samuel Clowdus; and his siblings, James Clowdus, June Woodard, Betty Cornelius, Joyce Johnson, Tommy Clowdus and Billy Clowdus.

He is survived by: his wife Alice Marie Ray Clowdus; his children, Christopher Allen Clowdus of New York City and Janice Martin Clowdus of Warrior; his grandsons, Zachary Samuel Clowdus (Kayte Marie Clowdus) of Mount Olive and Nickolas Allen Clowdus of Warrior; and his sisters, Doris Cotton, Linda Allison and Glenda Adamson.
