It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris H. (Thomas) McDowell (Gardendale, Alabama), who passed away on December 20, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam J. Thomas and Myrtle E. Self; and her siblings, Sam Junior Thomas and Shirley Ann Hurst. She is survived by: her husband Roy L. McDowell; her children, Jimmy Ray Cain, John H. Cain and Candace Cain Palmer (Don); her stepson Mike McDowell (Sheena); her adoptive daughter Sharon Stafford (Paul); her granddaughters, Katlin Maze, Chloe Palmer, Michaela McDowell and Laura McTear (Brendan); her great grandchildren, Miya, Skylin, Owen and Luke; and her brother Carl L. Thomas (Diane).
Doris asked that donations be made to Children's Hospital, Shriner's Hospital or St. Jude Hospital in lieu of flowers.
