He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Nelson and Maggie Nelson; his son Matthew Nelson; and his siblings, Lillian, Louise, Lucille, Gurthie, Mary Edith, Bertha, Robert "Buddy" and Edward.
He is survived by: his children, Alecia Boshell (Ricky), Angela Cotton (Earnie) and Scott Nelson (Debbie); and his grandchildren, Lee, Michael, Brandon, Austin, Alex, Ben, Shaunee, Charish, Andrea and Ling. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
