He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Lou and Herbert Schmid; and his brother Charles Schmid. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jerrell "Gerry" Hope; his daughters, Jerrell Jamerson (Randy) and Cherry Bates (Neal); his grandchildren, Ethan Jamerson (Jessie), Brendan Jamerson, Brandon Bates, Mary Ellen Bates and Katelyn Bates; his sisters, Kit Bethea (Bryan) and Kay Royals (Horace); and his sister-in-law Shirley Schmid (Charles). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
