He was predeceased by: his wife Regina Lesley; his parents, Bertha Mae Lesley and Shirley Lesley; and his siblings, Frank Lesley, Buck Lesley, Richard Lesley, Hoyt Lesley, Bernice Blythe, Juanita Odom and Hazel Kirby.
He is survived by: his children, Christy Johnson of Pinson and George Lesley Jr. (Annie Lesley) of Pinson; his brother Houston Lesley of Jemison; and his grandchildren, Luke Johnson (LJ) and Faye Lesley. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
