She was predeceased by: her husband Russell E. Startley; her parents, James Cox, Sr. and Fronie E. Smith (Cox); her stepfather Joseph Smith; and her siblings, James Cox, Jr., Hubert Cox, Lillie Mae Startley (Cox) and Alice Faye Clay (Cox).

She is survived by: her daughters, Eugenia Marie Arnold, Gwendolyn Ann Stracener and Elissa Diane Jones. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory as two time breast cancer survivor.
