With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Richard Johnson of Gardendale, Alabama, who passed away on December 29, 2020 at the age of 56. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. Johnson Sr. and Emily Ruth Lockridge Johnson; his brother Ronald Clinton Johnson "Ronnie"; and his grandparents, Omar, Mildred Lockridge, Ellis and Rachel Johnson.

He is survived by: his sibling's children, James "Nick" Johnson and Marissa Rizzo (Nathan); his great-nephew Collin Rizzo; his aunt Bonnie Cornett (Gene); his uncle Ronnie Lockridge (Linda); and his cousins, Jeff Cornett (Tracy), Krissy Hammond, Greg Lockridge (Caroline) and Sandy Deininger (Tommy). He is also survived by family members and friends.
