He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Marie Cole; his parents, C. F. Cole and Carrie Cole; and his siblings, C. F. Cole, Jr. and Louise Goggins.

He is survived by: his daughter Barbara McCluskey (Neil); his brother Henry Cole; and his grandchildren, James N. McCluskey, Michael McCluskey (Joniqua), Caleb, Jacob, Samuel, Hannah, Jesslyn McCluskey and Sarah Jenkins. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
