He is survived by: his children, Gary Neal (Melinda) and Sandra Long; his grandchildren, Stephanie Parker (Amber), Megan Frost (Chad), Anthony Long (Lora Lee) and Jon Long (Brittany); his great grandchildren, Jack Long, Anna Clare Long, Jordyn Long, Kennedy Long and Bella Parker; and his sisters, Nell Doss and Rebecca Foster.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Shriner's Children Hospitals.
