He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ann Nixon; and his son John Cleveland Nixon, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Valerie Hawk (Jim), Bruce R. Nixon and Tim Nixon (Anne); and his sisters, Lila Eagle (Jimmy) and Myrie Nabors. He is also survived by six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren.
