He was predeceased by: his parents, Houston Kanaday and Gay Kanaday. He is survived by: his wife Donna Murphy Kanaday; his children, Kim Archer (Doug), John Mark Kanaday (Scarlet) and Rebecca Slater (Matthew); his grandchildren, Jordan, John Tyler, Jake, Houston, Sara and Ava; his brother Clifton Kanaday (Sheila); and his mother-in-law Ann Kennedy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
