It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doug Bridges of Gordo, Alabama, who passed away on September 28, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Doug Bridges to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his sister Sue Burkhalter; his brother-in-law Walter Burkhalter; his nephew Richard Burkhalter; and his parents, Milton Bridges and Mary Lou Strickland Bridges.

He is survived by : his children, Kelley Whitley (William) and Brett Bridges (Ann); his grandsons, Blake Bridges, Braeden Bridges and Will Whitley; his nieces, Suzette Jones (Kermit) and Amanda Newman (Reid); and his pet Cannon. He is also survived by cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Sand Springs United Methodist Church, 523 Hudson Drive, Gordo, AL 35466.
