She was predeceased by : her sister Claudine Latham; and her parents, Claude Estes and Mamozell Parker Estes. She is survived by : her sister Chris Powell of Gordo, AL; her nephew Marlin Boblitt (Elaine); and her nieces, Denise Trull (Randolph) and Robin Edgeworth (Freddie). She is also survived by great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces.

In lieu of flowers, because of Karen's love of the children in the church, the family suggests memorials to Gordo First Baptist Church Children's Ministry, P.O. Box 323, Gordo, AL 35466 .
