With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nellie Ruth Benson of Grant, Alabama, who passed away on October 12, 2020 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Howard Benson; her children, Alvin Benson and Dorothy Ann VanNess; her parents, Luther Luke and Dorcie Vaughn Moody; and her siblings, Edward Moody, John L. Moody, Willadean McCutcheon and Sue Stewart.
She is survived by: her son Howard J. Benson (Reda Kay); her siblings, Emma Lou Davis, Allie Mae Leslie and William Franklin Moody; her grandchildren, Scott VanNess, Jason Benson (Cassandra) and Tina VanNess; and her great grandchildren, Jaxon, Caraleigh, Naomi, Alex and Kahlee. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations to be made to Encompass Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
