The memory of Mattie Overton of Grove Hill, Alabama, who passed away on September 30, 2025 at the age of 84, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodrow, Sr. Ikner and Gertrude Ikner (Stabler); her husband Edward K. Overton; and her siblings, Woodrow Ikner, Jr., Johnny Ikner, Inez Rowell and Pauline Cornelson.
She is survived by: her son Charles Overton (Kimberly); her grandchildren, Holly Hayes (Michael), Chance Shaw (Jeremy Culver), Kathy Shaw (Lars Briscoe) and Ian Shaw (Maddie); her great grandchildren, Cassidy Hayes, Alex Hayes, Allie Hayes and Michael Briscoe; and her sisters, Mary Mason and Ann Ellis.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Lathan Funeral Home (1867 US-43, Jackson, AL 36545).
