He was predeceased by: his parents, Fletcher Butler and Cloa Mayhall Butler; his brother Earl Butler (Gladys); his son Rodney Dale Butler; and his grandson Kiah Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Smith Butler; his sons, Kim Butler, Barry Butler (Rita) and Keith Butler (Teresa); his grandchildren, Melissa Henson, Tiffany South, Ashley Ozbirn, Jerett Butler and C. K. Smith; his great grandchildren, Gage Butler, Jon Michael Ozbirn, Brantley Ozbirn, Neal Butler and Emma Taylor; his brother Terry Butler; and his sister-in-law Elaine Abbott.
