He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Doctor Chester Pitman and Ella Bodley Pitman; his wife Elna; his children, Charles David Pitman and Melissa Ann Pitman; his siblings, Thearman Pitman, Vernon "Buddy" Pitman, Corene Smith and Annie Jean Praytor; his son Marlin Pitman; his sister Aliene Eaton; his grandsons, Charles Pitman (Christie) and David Pitman (Andria); and his great grandchildren, Sam, Ben, Chandler, Millia and Sonny.
