It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Curtis Nelson (Hartselle, Alabama), who passed away on August 10, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Roy Nelson and Ivory Bell Holmes Nelson; his wife Marie Morgan Nelson; his siblings, Etheridge Lee Nelson and Shelva Jean Turner; and his brothers-in-law, Joe Turner, Leo Haney and Wayne Boughman.
He is survived by: his children, Fred Nelson (Jerone), Pat Nelson (Leslie) and Amy Steakley (Louis); his grandchildren, Shelby Beck (Chris), Jake Nelson and Lee Steakley; his stepgrandchildren, Stacy Stevenson (Robby), Chad Bowling (Tammy) and Adam Bowling (Maeghan); his siblings, Olen Nelson (Margaret), James Nelson (Virginia), Rolland Nelson (Peggy), Martin Nelson, Sr. (Nina), Sydney Nelson (Anita), Evonne Haney, Doris Boughman and Mary Hatfield (Cliff); and his sister-in-law Ella Dean Nelson. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
