He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Wilson and Edna Pearl Holt Sims; his son Tim Sims; and his sister Reba Faye Jacobs. He is survived by: his wife Merle Sims; his sons, Darrell Sims (Sue), Carroll Sims, David Sims (Gail) and Michael Sims (Mindy); his brother Mancil Sims (Shirley); his grandchildren, Kristen Widick (Lane), Leah Garton (Philip), Tesha Brewer (Justin), Drew Sims, Hunter Sims, Joseph Sims (Diana), Sarah Sims, Jonathan Sims (Chante), Hannah Jackson (John), Anna Sims, Caleb Sims and Erin Sims; and his great grandchildren, Josie Widick, LilyAnna, Liberty Garton, Cayden Brewer, Ali, Eli, Ava Sims, Ava Brewer, Walker Sims, Alex Sims and Austin Sims.
