She was predeceased by: her parents, Mell Wyley Mitchell and Edna Ollie Modena James; and her husband James Howard Tolbert. She is survived by: her daughters, Jeanne Thompson Evans (Scott) and Jan Thompson Pierce (Jim); and her grandchildren, Prentiss Zachery Roberts (Allison) and Kelly Mitchell Roberts (Danielle). She is also survived by son Four Great Grandchildren.
