He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Heyward Gay and Maude Evelyn Goodall Gay; his wife Ruth Nunn Gay; and his sister Barbara Ketchum. He is survived by: his daughters, Kathy Earnest of Decatur, AL and Brenda Hatcher (Allan); his grandchildren, Chris Hatcher of Huntsville, AL, Robert Hatcher, Olney, MD, Savanna Lyles (Nathan) and Jamie Earnest; his great grandchild Victoria Hatcher; and his brother-in-law Sam Nunn (Phyllis).
In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
