He was predeceased by: his father Rufus "R. J."; and his brother Ernest Wingo. He is survived by: his wife Kaye Wingo; his son Nathanael J. Wingo (Stephanie Treubig); his stepdaughters, Tonya Pelzer (Mark) and Sonya Baker (James); his brother Joe Wingo; and his nephew Ryan Wingo.
