He was predeceased by: his wife Neldeane Cummins Harris; his parents, James L. and Bernice Sheperd Harris; and his siblings, Louis Harris, Levy Harris, Martin Harris, George Harris and Katie Harris Stanley.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Jay Harris (Karen) of Hartselle, AL, Joseph L. Harris (Pam) of Bemidji, MN and Cay Harris of Hartselle, AL; and his siblings, Dickie Harris of Clarksdale, MS and Honoree Waldrip of Pontotoc, MS. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Zion Baptist Church, 459 Valley Road, Pontotoc, MS 38863.
