With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Johnny Bates (Hartselle, Alabama), who passed away on December 16, 2020 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Stancel Bates and Estelle Robinson Brasher; and his wife Linda Compton Bates. He is survived by: his children, Melanie Blankenship and Monte Bates; and his brothers, James Bates and Billy Brasher.

In lieu of flowers: family requests memorial donations be made to the Childrens Hospital of Alabama.
