It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lee Coon Jr. (Hartselle, Alabama), born in Hammond, Louisiana, who passed away on January 3, 2018, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Lee Coon and Mary Mitchell Coon; his siblings, Jesse Coon, Fred Coon and Grace Coon Adams; his former wife Ida Sellers Coon; and his daughter Cindy Coon.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Mitch" Coon; and his children, Leslie Wier (Bo), Cissy Lakin (Terry), Mary Ellen Friedrich (Mark), Lee Coon (Judy), Lisa Baxter (Howard), Arthur George Howell III and Amy Bell (Ray). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to The Good Samaritan Fund at First United Methodist Church, 210 Hickory Street SE, Hartselle, AL 35640.
