He was predeceased by: his parents, Christa Asmann and Herbert Asmann; and his mother-in-law Betsy Murray. He is survived by: his wife Pam; his son Thomas; his grandson Dominic; his brother Klaus (Manuela); his nephew Christof; his father-in-law Bob Murray; his sister-in-law Marcia Massengill (Paschall); his nieces, Christy Kuhlman (Austin) and Kaci Wall (Drew); and his great-niece Cora.

Peter Asmann died on January 24, 2019, following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
