He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Rosco Lyons and Ollie Mae Lyons; his siblings, Betty Hayes and Jimmy Dickerson; his wife Terri Whatley Lyons; his siblings, Myra Dillman and Raymond Dickerson; his daughters, Deede Lyons Jones (Beau) and Amy Lyons Crisler (Alan); and his grandsons, Wyker Jones, Ian Jones, Nate Crisler and Witt Crisler. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Action Partnership of North Alabama.
