He was predeceased by: his parent Doctor Chester "D. C."; and his siblings, Thearman Pitman, Corene Smith and Annie Jean Praytor. He is survived by: his wife Sondra Higdon Pitman; his children, Eric Jason Pitman (Andi Pitman) and Tammi Dawn Azizian (Ricky Azizian); his siblings, Charles Truman Pitman and Aliene Eaton; and his grandchildren, Ella Pitman, Morgan Pitman, Alex Ransom, Ben Pitman, Maddie Pitman and Lucas Azizian.
In lieu of flowers; family requests memorials be made to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice or to First Baptist Church of Decatur.
