He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Armstrong and Grace Armstrong; his brother Claburn Armstrong; his son Dale Armstrong; and his granddaughter Sandy Rhoad.
He is survived by: his wife Bama Armstrong; his children, Yvonne Russell (Robby) and Gary Armstrong; and his grandchildren, Abbey Sherrell, Amber Bibb (Austen), Ashley Shipp (Jesse), Jordan Jones (Allie), Samantha Box (Zach), Kasey Armstrong and Shelby Patterson (Davis). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
