He is survived by: his fiancée Wanda Bearden; his sons, Robert Alexander III, Michael Alexander, Tommy Alexander and Jacob Alexander; his stepchildren, Sean Black, Kristy Abernathy, Penny Dillard and Tony Daniels; and his siblings, Jimmy Alexander and Sarah Alexander Short. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
