With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Evelyn Hodges of Houston, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 19, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carlos Mathis and Eura Hall Mathis; and her siblings, Dorothy Nell Raley, Carl Mathis, Jr., Theo Mathis, Charles Mathis and Bobby Mathis.
She is survived by: her husband Larry D. Hodges of Dothan; her daughters, Susan McAnulty (Mike) of Dothan and Starla Watford (Jason) of Dothan; and her grandchildren, Kaitlyn McAnulty of Dothan, Troy Watts (Hedaya) of Dothan, Hayley DeLoach (Riley) of Troy, Dylan Watford of Dothan and Blake Watford of Dothan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Mount Enon Baptist Church Cemetery (3167 Iris Rd, Dothan, AL 36301). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
