With heavy hearts, we announce the death of McIntosh James Larry of Hueytown, Alabama, born in Memphis, Tennessee, who passed away on October 1, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Luning and Benjamin McIntosh; and his brothers, Gary Luning and Henry Luning (Hank). He is survived by: his wife P. Dianne McIntosh; his children, Deborah Kilgore (Kent) and David McIntosh (Britta); his grandchildren, Grace McIntosh, Braden Rushing, Piper McIntosh, Reagan McIntosh, William McIntosh, Justin Moody (Emmy), Kayla Dixson (Colby) and Kristyn Cornelius (Chas); his great grandchildren, Willow Vines, Julianna Moody, Jordan Moody, Kollins Dixson, Bohdi Dixson, Lily Cornelius and Nellie Cornelius; and his siblings, Linda McNaught (James), Deborah Frenier (Doug), Michael Luning (Malissa) and Patrick Luning. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Peoples Chapel Funeral Home (195 Brooklane Dr, Bessemer, AL 35023). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, if desired, in honor of Larry's memory and military service.
