He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Dorothy Smith; his wife Brenda Staton Smith; his children, Drew Smith (Kimberly), Scott Smith (Lady), Kristin Brown (Adam) and Laura Leigh McManus (Wilson); and his grandchildren, Caroline, Robert Currie, Andrew, Mary Morgan Smith, Duncan, Corinne, Gibson Smith, Allie, Anna Brown, Clara, Wright and Molly McManus.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church or Dauphin Island Bird Sanctuary.
