He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Patterson and Julie Patterson; and his siblings, William Patterson, Jay S. Patterson, Homer Patterson, Pete Patterson, Melvin Patterson, Ether Johnson, Retha Thomas and Eera Presley.
He is survived by: his wife Bettye Jo Dolberry Patterson; and his sisters, Rae Bryant (Marvin) and Mary Snider. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
