He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Michael Sykes, Kendrick Sykes (Nanette), Reginald Sykes and Tynelle A. Stewart; his siblings, Sallie Burt, Richard (Connie) and John Smith; his aunts, Mary Lee Short and Georgia Ayers; and his uncle Miller Carthen. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
