He was predeceased by: his mother Teresa Wilhelmina Price Dorries. He is survived by: his father John William Dorries; his children, Susan Elizabeth Dorries and Steven Joseph Dorries (Beverly); his siblings, Beverly Ematrudo of Waxhaw, NC, Carolyn Jessop of Landis, NC, John Dorries, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Piedmont, AL, Ellen Williamson (Larry) of Kannapolis, NC and Ann Prosek (Ray) of Snellville, GA.; his sister-in-law Cheryl Smith of Pelham, AL; his niece Susie Montgomery of Dauphin Island, AL; and his friend Bill Oliver. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church (1413 McClung Ave SE, Huntsville, AL 35801).
