He was predeceased by: his parents, George Coleman Merrell and Elsie Dee Merrell; and his siblings, Paul, Leonard, Dude, Mefford, Ray, J. D., Mary Bridges, Gertrude Bernard and Faye Wildes.

He is survived by: his grandson Hunter Vincent Merrell.

In lieu of flowers donations could be made to Farley Church of Christ .
